A model of France Pavilion in Expo 2010 was unveiled to Beijing people yesterday in the city's Ullens Center of Contemporary Art.
Jacques Ferrier, the designer of the pavilion, introduced the innovative features of the pavilion to the people on the scene such as the French garden inside the 6,000-square-meter pavilion.
This design was selected from 49 candidates in France, a country which has hosted more Expos than any other countries. The pavilion combines intelligence with environment protection and attempts to find new links between culture and nature as well as between city and emotions.
It will also present France's contribution in the sustainable urban development as well as solutions to put people at the top priority of the development. The current design focuses on demonstrating a city which provides comfortable life and other sensual experiences to people in it.
Construction has started on the pavilion since November last year and the model will travel to other Chinese cities to promote the pavilion this year.
The exhibition in the pavilion will be open until April 6.
